Peter Wilson brings a wealth of knowledge about architectural preservation and architectural-style-appropriate color pallettes to every project. Peter’s understanding of thorough pre-painting preparation and correct application of materials is very good. Peter’s assistance with my recent resoration of our 100 year old Craftsman style home was invaluable.

Peter Wilson completely restored the interior of my 1912 bungalow to it’s deserved glory in 2002. His keen eye for architectural details and fine color sense has helped make my house the home I always wanted, a place of warmth and comfort.

Since Peter’s original work in 2002, my house has been on the Bungalow Heaven home tours twice, and I’ve had Peter back to do additional exterior work as recent as the summer of 2015. I’m as pleased with the recent work as I was with the original.

Peter Wilson Painting and Decorating did an excellent job painting the interior of our home. Peter helped us with the selection of the paint colors which my husband and I liked very much. His staff was very helpful and they covered and protected our furniture in a very professional manner. His staff also did an excellent job cleaning up after each day’s work.

We were very happy with the preparation of the doors and window sills which required lot of sanding. Our fireplace mantle and the built-in shelves look fantastic now. We have received many compliments. Thank you, Peter.

Peter Wilson has been our painter of choice for over 20 years. He has carefully maintained the external and interior finishes of our home offering his expertise for dealing with the elements, color selection, and materials. His staff is considerate and always cleans up the work area at the end of each day. Peter meets his commitments and completes the work on time barring unforeseen surprises. We highly recommend Peter Wilson Painting and Decorating.

Peter and his painters were over here at the house in San Dimas for about a month! (May-June, 2015) Rightfully so because the house, even though it’s a “youngster” and built circa 2006, is a relatively large full scale model of an early 1900’s Craftsman style home. I became aware of Peter’s fine reputation and generally his existence from the auspices of the City Of Pasadena Registry of Fine Artisans who are capable enough to work on the “real” thing including the Gamble House. That was good enough for me and so my painting process with Peter began. I was most impressed with Peter’s ability to formulate a correct way to paint the house based on in person discussions/interviews that I had with him leading up to and during the time the house was being transformed. Not painted but transformed into the conceptual and ultimate actual image that had been attained conversationally and then masterfully executed into a reality. The house still looks like a full scale model of a Craftsman style home but it now has an understated, blended, and refined finish to it with coloration that compliments its architectural qualities and protects it from the elements of the local environs. Peter will tell you that it is a “process” as most well conceived artistic projects are. The finale was wonderful. THANK YOU!

Our 1913 Craftsman home in Glendora had not been painted in decades. Peter and his crew did a wonderful job on the exterior. We can’t wait to have more work done on the interior. Peter worked with us to find the right colors that fit the home and our style.

It was a great adventure working with Peter. It meant so much to us to ”do right” by our 1908 Craftsman home in Alhambra. After spending weeks on our own with paint swatches, exploring every Bungalow neighborhood in LA, looking up historical palettes, perusing photos online, it was a relief to find Peter who said, “Put the swatches away, lets talk.”

When you work with Peter, you are not only working with someone who will do an excellent job, you are working with an expert in the specialized field of Craftsman restoration. Through Peter’s architectural sleuthing we discovered and were able to identify and restore features that had been lost long ago .

With the confidence that can only happen when you work with a trusted,
esthetically and historically sensitive guide, we were able to take some creative risk with our color selections, and hone in on colors that were slightly unusal and just perfect for us.

Our home was just nominated for a Heritage Award from the Alhambra Preservation Group. I think we can give a round of cheer and credit to Peter and his staff as well as Joe Grueter construction, who came to us as a wonderful recommendation from Peter as well.

Peter Wilson and his staff worked on painting and refurbishing my 90 year old Mexican ranch style home in 2015. The results were exactly what I had envisioned. The men who work for Peter were professional and a pleasure to work with. Many decisions had to be made while the work was in progress and the patience and care that Peter and his staff gave to this process were impressive. I would choose them again for this project. What a phenomenal job Peter did on our home.
My wife and I bought a 127-year-old house that’d been painted many times but apparently never prepped. The color was blah and peeling off in chunks during hot weather.
Peter Wilson Painting was listed on Pasadena Heritage’s Craftsman Referrals, and I knew he was the right guy as soon as we met. He has years of experience working with old house restorations, and his fine arts background has made him a color master with an eye for the tiniest details. His longtime crew is skilled, professional and hardworking.
Our house was finished in October, and the result was far beyond expectation. The neighbors love it, strangers are taking pictures and asking for his info, and family members are trying to convince him to work outside of Pasadena (he doesn’t usually accept jobs further than South Pas.).
Peter is the man. I wish I could post before-and-after photos to show his amazing work.
Hey Peter, post a picture of our house please? We are so proud of it!

Sure Thing. See The Petak Home here.

Peter Wilson had wonderful ideas on the color palette for my 1922 craftsman house . The quality of the painting looks great and I am already receiving many compliments from family and neighbors . His staff were very hard workers and the job was completed in less than 3 weeks !

Thank you so much for referring me to the Pasadena Historical Society to restore the Fenyes Mansion and Pasadena Museum of History. The project was formidable and challenging. After many months of wood refinishing and painting inside and out it indeed took on new beauty much like its former glory. I am so proud to be a part of Pasadena’s rich architectural legacy that so many get to see it.

On a side note donating my Great-Grandmother’s O’keefe and Merrit stove that is installed in the kitchen I restored makes my family proud.
